ラミル・サファロフの基本情報

ラミル・サヒプ＝オグル・サファロフ(
、1977年8月25日 - )はアゼルバイジャン陸軍の少佐である。2004年2月19日午前、ハンガリー・ブダペストで、当時中尉であったサファロフは同じくNATO主催の語学訓練ゼミナールに参加していたアルメニア陸軍中尉、グルゲン・マルガリャン(
、1978年9月26日 – 2004年2月19日)の部屋に侵入し、熟睡中のマルガリャンを斧でめった殴って殺害した後、現行犯として地元の警察に逮捕された。
2006年、サファロフはハンガリーで第1級殺人の容疑で起訴され、30年間仮釈放なしの終身刑が言い渡された。しかし、EUの国際受刑者の移送に関する条約に基づいて申請した後、サファロフは2012年8月31日、ハンガリーからアゼルバイジャンにその身柄が引渡された。両国は継続的な懲役を約束したにもかかわらず、サファロフはアゼルバイジャン国内で国民的英雄と視されていたため、すぐに大統領のイルハム・アリエフにより恩赦された。その後、アゼルバイジャン陸軍はサファロフの階級を少佐に昇進させたとともに、彼にアパートの一室を贈与し、8年間の未払給与も遡及的に払った。アゼルバイジャン政府筋によると、この恩赦は「国際受刑者の移送に関する条約」の第12条に従って行われたものである。これに対し、アルメニアはハンガリーとの国交断絶を申し立て、エレバンでは大規模な反ハンガリー抗議も勃発した。
